It's already been determined. Its a Microsoft / DisplayLink compatibility problem not my hardware or software setup.Ever since Windows 10 Anniversary (which I backed out of) and Windows 10 'Creators' Updates (which I stupidly installed thinking 'Hey, I am a creator with AutoCAD, Revit, HitFilm, Shotcut, Davinci, etc'. I have floated between reinstalling Nvidia drivers, DisplayLink drivers, and all sorts of other system tweeks.It boils down to everything works just fine. UNTIL YOUR UPDATES. You introduce the previously wonderful Dell D3100 DisplayLink Hub.
Go mobile on the laptop with just it's screen and its back to good, I can pick drivers and Nvidiaautomatically does it most of the time. Dock at home office and want to use my two bigger 24' monitors via the Dell D3100 DisplayLink (like I used to do before Microsoft's updates). The whole system is forced to use the on-board Intel graphicschip which is a useless turd.Your updates have neutered a formerly great product, DisplayLink. EVERYBODY USES MULTIPLE LARGE MONITORS THESE DAYS!!!! And we should be able to do it like we could last year. WITH A LAPTOP. Most of the good ones have two graphics chips.
A weak POS Intel on-board and a high powered Dedicated GPU with significant dedicated memory.The pathetic Intel on board graphics chip is not capable of running much on two large screens. Practically nothing before it craps.We need to be able to set DisplayLink to use the dedicated graphics GPU.
It is DisplayLink that appears to be blocking the Dedicated GPU from running at all and forcing us into using the weak on board graphics chip. But they say it is MICROSOFTand we have to wait for REDSTONE 4 or LATER?!?!?! Might be my return to the Macintosh after 20 years?PS: The STUPID 'settings' vs 'control panel' arrangement is a disaster. Just stick to what works.

I was updated to Windows 10 Creator version 1709 this weekend and ran into the same exact problem. I tried every different way to get my dock (Dell D3000) to work. I was about to give up and try and roll back Windows when I came across this article and lowand behold it worked.
